My name is Elwyn and I came to EACH in June 2017, as I had bereavement issues after my father’s passing, as well as social anxiety. All this caused me to withdraw, I began isolating and began struggling with my studies.
Through counselling, I expressed myself and had the opportunity to talk about my issues.
My counsellor listened well but also taught me lots of life skills. Consequently I gained insight into my behaviour and the new skills started to take effect. I became more organised, disciplined and began to put down boundaries which increased my confidence. This brought focus back into my life and with my counsellor, I began to understand what’s important in my life and to let go of things that were not important.
I am happy to say that I have successfully completed a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma with triple distinction in Cyber Crime and Security. This September I will be joining Teeside University for a degree in Computer and Digital Forensics.
Overall, I am in a very good place, and have very good support and relationships with those that matter to me. And I feel optimistic!
