salary: £23,287 - £26,662 pro-rata, (inclusive of Outer London Weighting) | Duration: Permanent, subject to continuous funding | Hours: 37.5 hours per week exclusive of meal breaks

The post holders’ main purpose includes:

• To contribute to the implementation of the team’s aims and objectives, work plans, operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of EACH and deliver on business plan objectives.

• Support the co-ordination of all activities within the Floating Support team effectively and maintain EACH’s standards in relation to service users/internal customers and other stakeholders alike.

• To carry a caseload of clients and lead on on-going support and direction for a number of the team’s clients through the casework management approach.  

• Carry out liaison roles internally and externally to EACH.

• Providing timely and accurate information, reports and analysis to Operations Manager or Service Manager, as they may find necessary for the proper management of the Floating Support Services.

Key Post Requirements

Key Post Requirements

Volunteer Counsellor | Richmond, Wandsworth, Kingston, Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow.
salary: Voluntary | Duration: Minimum 6 Months | Hours: Minimum 5 hours per week

We are looking for Counsellors who are keen to volunteer and make a personal contribution to the organisation and the community. We welcome volunteers from amongst our service users, ex-service users and anyone who is interested in counselling or a career

This is a voluntary post and you will be required to work a minimum of 5 hours (5 hours per week) for a minimum of 6 months.  

You will:

  • gain valuable work experience and learn new skills
  • Agree to a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check.
  • Agree to work according to EACH's Policies & Procedures
  • Agree to work in locations and satellites as required by the specific project's needs.
  • Establish a good relationship of trust and respect with clients.
  • Refer clients to other sources of help within the borough of operation as appropriate to the client's needs.
  • Attend supervision and training courses, including; Safeguarding Adults & Children, Health & Safety, Equalities & Code of Conduct.
  • Undertake group facilitation as well as individual counselling sessions.
  • Keep client records up-to-date, including client database records within timescales.
  • Provide administrative support and reception cover when required.
  • Ensure that the project lead is kept updated with regards to your availability and reasonable notice when you are unable to attend.
  • Provide one month's notice should you wish to end your voluntary role with EACH, to ensure EACH has sufficient time to reallocate your client(s) to another counsellor.

You will need:

  • Trainee counsellors wishing to undertake clinical placements with EACH must have completed the first year of their counselling diploma.
  • For some of our work candidates will be required to have 100+ supervised hours. 
  • Qualified counsellors or therapists to have some relevant experience of supporting clients experiencing substance misuse, mental health, violence or trauma.
  • A commitment to complete EACH’s core training programme.
  • Willingness to carry out the tasks set out in the role description
  • Good listening skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Respect for confidentially and a non-judgmental approach
  • have the skills to speak one or more of the following community languages:

    Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Farsi, Arabic, Tamil. 

 Training

  • EACH will provide an organisational induction to all our volunteers, to include policies, procedures and client data management. Training and workshops will be made available, core training are free and others offered at reduced cost.
  • Monthly clinical group supervision is provided free of charge and is mandatory.

EACH Counselling & Support (EACH) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which is governed by a Board currently comprised of 7 Trustees.

The Board has overall responsibility for the work of the organisation, and has the following role: to oversee the charity’s governance to establish strategy to performance manage the achievement of the strategy to contribute to the leadership of the charity.

The Board can have a membership of up to 12 trustees; we are seeking new trustees due to vacancies on the Board. The term of office for trustees is 3 years, which means that each year, typically, four Trustee positions fall vacant. These can be filled through election at our AGM and by appointment by the Board over the year.
