Business Manager | Ealing
salary: £31,921 per annum | Duration: 1 year fixed term contract | Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Business Manager’s role is to ensure that our new social enterprise initiative to provide an evening and weekend’s therapy service is operationalised effectively and that it meets its financial and social objectives by generating income. This will involve undertaking sales and promotions, and developing its customer base. The role also will ensure that the appropriate systems are in place, co-ordinate resources and support staff to ensure that the business offer is of high quality and within organisational values.

The role will be required to operationalise the service through a stepped approach so that it ramps up delivery to be accessible Mondays – Sundays, at different locations and via different approaches, e.g. e-therapy (Skype, phone, SMS etc.). As such, the post holder may be required to work up to 50% of their time out of hours during the initial stages.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To plan, develop and implement out of hours service as a social enterprise that generates a surplus.
  • To manage and co-ordinate the efficient and effective day to day operations of activities associated with the social enterprise, e.g. customer service, client allocations and bookings, sessional staff bank, monitoring, facilities.
  • Prepare reports monthly, quarterly and annually, including take up, income, and customer analysis.
  • Manage and maintain effectiveness of IT and other essential business support systems, e.g. online bookings.
  • Produce and distribute marketing materials and utilise marketing channels, including social media, events, to market and generate ‘sales’.
  • Recruit and ensure staffing levels to sustain and deliver the service are maintained.

You will need to have/show:

  • Experience and knowledge of setting up and implementing successfully new projects and services.
  • Experience of marketing and sales and ability to market a service.
  • Capability of successful day to day operational management of a service or project.
  • An entrepreneurial approach with a working knowledge of setting up and/or developing businesses’ or social enterprise. 
  • Able to work evenings and weekends where required and flexibly
  • Ability to lead, inspire and motivate others and generate innovative ideas Experience of working with and relating to a diverse range of people.

Team Leader / Senior Support Worker– Floating Support Services | Harrow
salary: £25,000 per annum | Duration: Permanent | Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting a Team Leader/Senior Support Worker for our Harrow Floating Support Services.  You will have oversight and management of two services - a generic floating support service and an accommodation based substance misuse/ex-offenders service. This role will comprise of 40% management duties and 60% direct client support working.

Purpose

  • To contribute to the implementation of the Harrow Floating Support Services (generic, substance misuse, ex-offenders) aims and objectives, work plans, operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of EACH and deliver on business plan objectives.
  • Support the co-ordination of all activities within the Floating Support team effectively and maintain EACH’s standards in relation to service users/internal customers and other stakeholders alike.
  • To carry a caseload of 15-20 clients and lead on on-going support and direction for a number of the team’s clients through the casework management approach.
  • Providing timely and accurate information, reports and analysis to Recovery Support Services Manager/Operations Manager, as they may find necessary for the proper management of the Harrow Floating Support Services.

You will need to have/show:

  • Experience and good understanding of the issues involved in delivering effective support services to a range of vulnerable people.
  • Experience working with clients with alcohol and drug problems, and ex-offending background.
  • Experience and understanding of supporting and supervising casework practice of support workers, trainees, students or volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative whilst remaining accountable to line management.

  • Ability to deal with emergencies and unexpected situations.

EACH Counselling & Support (EACH) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which is governed by a Board currently comprised of 7 Trustees.

The Board has overall responsibility for the work of the organisation, and has the following role: to oversee the charity’s governance to establish strategy to performance manage the achievement of the strategy to contribute to the leadership of the charity.

The Board can have a membership of up to 12 trustees; we are seeking new trustees due to vacancies on the Board. The term of office for trustees is 3 years, which means that each year, typically, four Trustee positions fall vacant. These can be filled through election at our AGM and by appointment by the Board over the year.
