Vacancies

Volunteer Counsellor | Richmond, Wandsworth, Kingston, Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow.
salary: Voluntary | Duration: Minimum 6 Months | Hours: Minimum 5 hours per week

We are looking for Counsellors who are keen to volunteer and make a personal contribution to the organisation and the community. We welcome volunteers from amongst our service users, ex-service users and anyone who is interested in counselling or a career

This is a voluntary post and you will be required to work a minimum of 5 hours (5 hours per week) for a minimum of 6 months.  

You will:

  • gain valuable work experience and learn new skills
  • Agree to a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check.
  • Agree to work according to EACH's Policies & Procedures
  • Agree to work in locations and satellites as required by the specific project's needs.
  • Establish a good relationship of trust and respect with clients.
  • Refer clients to other sources of help within the borough of operation as appropriate to the client's needs.
  • Attend supervision and training courses, including; Safeguarding Adults & Children, Health & Safety, Equalities & Code of Conduct.
  • Undertake group facilitation as well as individual counselling sessions.
  • Keep client records up-to-date, including client database records within timescales.
  • Provide administrative support and reception cover when required.
  • Ensure that the project lead is kept updated with regards to your availability and reasonable notice when you are unable to attend.
  • Provide one month's notice should you wish to end your voluntary role with EACH, to ensure EACH has sufficient time to reallocate your client(s) to another counsellor.

You will need:

  • Trainee counsellors wishing to undertake clinical placements with EACH must have completed the first year of their counselling diploma.
  • For some of our work candidates will be required to have 100+ supervised hours. 
  • Qualified counsellors or therapists to have some relevant experience of supporting clients experiencing substance misuse, mental health, violence or trauma.
  • A commitment to complete EACH’s core training programme.
  • Willingness to carry out the tasks set out in the role description
  • Good listening skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Respect for confidentially and a non-judgmental approach
  • have the skills to speak one or more of the following community languages:

    Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Farsi, Arabic, Tamil. 

 Training

  • EACH will provide an organisational induction to all our volunteers, to include policies, procedures and client data management. Training and workshops will be made available, core training are free and others offered at reduced cost.
  • Monthly clinical group supervision is provided free of charge and is mandatory.

Resources and Admin Support Officer | Ealing
salary: £14,851.20 per annum | Duration: Permanent | Hours: 28 hours per week (4 days)

We are looking for someone to support the Senior Management Team in relation to resources and administrative functions. You will be required to undertake administrative support for the Project Co-ordinators, Senior Management Team and volunteers.  The post holder will provide support for ordering, provision and allocation of resources to staff and volunteers across the organisation.

You will:

  • Support the Head office team in relation to HR and administrative functions, for example assisting with staff recruitment process including job adverts, arranging interviews, making reference requests and induction for new staff members – documents check, DBS applications, ID Cards.
  • Provide HR support during TUPE process and new service mobilisation.
  • Assist in preparation for quality standards framework (e.g. ISO 9001 and Investors in People) accreditations.
  • Support development and maintenance of policies and procedures, e.g. staff handbook and standard operating procedures handbook.
  • Provide support in updating and maintaining personnel records such as annual leave, sickness and training matrix.
  • Assist in ordering all office supplies and other equipment for the organisation and dealing with supplier contracts and maintenance of register of equipment and stationeries.

You will have:

  • Experience of handling telephone enquiries.
  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of professionals and service users.
  • Excellent IT skills particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and database administration.

Salary point 18, £19,890 per annum (full time equivalent inclusive of outer London weighting). Pro-rata for 28 hours/week is £14,851.20 (inclusive of OLW) per annum.

We are looking for a Communications and Information Officer to play a pivotal role in the effectiveness and impact of the organisation. You will be leading on developing and delivering user-centred communications and information to help build our presence and support.

This is a permanent post of 35 hours (5 days per week), subject to continuous funding and performance. You will be based in our Head Office which is part of our Ealing Centre.

You will:

  • Be responsible for digital and written communications
  • Manage, maintain and utilise our Management Information System to draw out information
  • Support the CEO and Senior Management Team in organisational and business development

You will need:

  • Experience of working in a communications related role
  • Experience of pulling together information and materials for purposes of communicating with stakeholders, e.g social media content, reports
  • Understanding of and managing data systems
  • Ability to interrogate information and data to collate, organise and share effectively
  • Understanding of diversity issues in context of role and the organisation’s work

The post holder key responsibilities will be:

To contribute to the implementation of the team’s aims and objectives, work plans, operational policies and procedures in such a way that they contribute to the mission of EACH and deliver on business plan objectives.

• Support the co-ordination of all activities within the Floating Support team effectively and maintain EACH’s standards in relation to service users/internal customers and other stakeholders alike.

EACH Counselling & Support (EACH) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which is governed by a Board currently comprised of 7 Trustees.

The Board has overall responsibility for the work of the organisation, and has the following role: to oversee the charity’s governance to establish strategy to performance manage the achievement of the strategy to contribute to the leadership of the charity.

The Board can have a membership of up to 12 trustees; we are seeking new trustees due to vacancies on the Board. The term of office for trustees is 3 years, which means that each year, typically, four Trustee positions fall vacant. These can be filled through election at our AGM and by appointment by the Board over the year.

Administration Volunteer | Head Office - Ealing
